Synopsis: The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is seeking engineering firms qualified to prepare reconnaissance level feasibility studies for the development of small hydropower projects on three existing dams in Montana. Those dams are Tongue River Dam, Painted Rocks Dam, and Cooney Dam described fully in the Background section that follows. All three dams are owned by DNRC and managed by the State Water Projects Bureau (SWPB). In its efforts to study the feasibility of retrofitting these dams with hydropower, DNRC is soliciting and will evaluate Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from engineering firms desiring to be considered for this project.
