Montana Jacks Bar and Grill Resolves Public Water Supply
Helena - Montana Jacks Bar and Grill in Dean, Mont. has settled an administrative enforcement action initiated by the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for violations of the Montana public water supply laws.
The restaurant failed to monitor for nitrate during 2011 and 2012, and failed to monitor for total coliform bacteria on thirteen occasions between August 2010 and May 2013. To resolve the violations, Montana Jacks sampled for nitrate and total coliform and paid a $1,145 administrative penalty.
DEQ Enforcement Specialist Shasta Steinweden said, “Compliance with public water supplies is essential to protecting public health.”
