DEQ Inviting Public Participation on Silver Bow Creek Classification
Helena -- The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is holding a public meeting concerning the water-use classification of Silver Bow Creek. The water-use class designates the minimum quality at which a water body is to be maintained and protected.
The public meeting will take place on Thursday, October 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives, 17 W Quartz St, Butte, MT.
At the meeting, DEQ staff will first provide an overview of the water-use classification process, and then will ask for comment from community members on current and potential future uses of Silver Bow Creek. These uses will be considered with recent Silver Bow Creek water quality and biological data in the water-use classification.
For more information about the meeting or the water-use classification process please contact Amy Steinmetz, DEQ Water Quality Planning Bureau at 406- 444-0371 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The DEQ will make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities who wish to participate in this meeting. If you require an accommodation, please contact Carrie Greeley at: email@example.com or 406-444-6749 by October 22 to advise us of the nature of the accommodation that you need.
