DEQ Accepting Public Comments on New Underground Storage Tanks in Great Falls
(Helena) The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Underground Storage Tank program, has prepared an Environmental Assessment for a proposed underground storage tank facility. This installation will be at the Smiths Food and Drug located at 1601 Market Place Drive in Great Falls, Montana.
This project involves installing two double-walled underground storage tanks. The tanks will be used for the storage of petroleum products. System monitoring will be accomplished with internal tank probes and sensors.
The DEQ prepares environmental assessments to inform interested government agencies, public groups, or individuals of a proposed action and to determine whether or not the action may have a significant effect on the human or natural environment.
The Environmental Assessment for this project is published at http://www.deq.mt.gov/ea.mcpx. Public comments will be accepted until October 5, 2012. Comments must be in writing and can be e-mailed to email@example.com or mailed to DEQ Underground Storage Tank Program at P.O. Box 200901, Helena, MT, 59620-0901. Following the comment period the DEQ will determine what actions to take regarding this permit application.
