Victor Saloon Owner Resolves Public Water Supply Violations
Helena -- The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has settled its administrative enforcement action against Perry Jasper, owner and operator of the Longbranch Saloon, for violations of the Montana Public Water Supply laws at the public water supply system serving the saloon located in Victor, Montana.
In its administrative order, DEQ alleged that Jasper exceeded the nitrate maximum contaminant level (MCL) and failed to provide public notice as required by the law.
To resolve the violations and return the public water supply system to compliance, Jasper deepened the existing well. All subsequent samples have been below the MCL for nitrate.
For questions about the Public Water Supply Program and laws, please contact the Public Water Supply and Subdivisions Bureau at (406) 444-4400 or visit DEQ’s website at www.deq.mt.gov.
