Kalispell Company Resolves Enforcement Action
HELENA — Schlegel & Sons Contractors, Inc., located in Kalispell, paid the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) a $480 penalty to resolve a violation of the Montana Opencut Mining Act.
In January 2012, DEQ issued an administrative order citing Schlegel for failing to submit the 2010 annual progress report for its gravel pit operation in Flathead County, Montana. The order assessed a $480 penalty for the violation. The company returned to compliance by submitting the delinquent progress report and paying the administrative penalty.
