This position is funded with federal stimulus money (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act - ARRA) and will last as long as the project or until the stimulus money comes to an end; approximately until June 2011.
Duties: This position provides management and oversight of petroleum releases from leaking underground storage tanks (LUSTs) and from aboveground tanks (ASTs). This position provides technical assistance and advice to other bureau staff on approaches for addressing petroleum and chemical releases from other sources, such as railroad fueling operations, oil refineries, wood-treating plants, and petroleum pipelines and their terminals.

This position is one of two program modeling positions that provides watershed and water quality modeling and analytical support to bureau staff for the development of TMDLs or water quality standards and water quality evaluations related to use-support assessments and permitted discharge applications. This position also provides strategic guidance and planning support statewide for TMDL and water quality standards development. This position is responsible for the application, enhancement, and/or development of the models and modeling "tools" to efficiently and effectively provide modeling services. This position serves as one of the programs staff experts regarding water quality and watershed modeling applications and will be using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) and Loading Simulation Program, C++ (LSPC, a streamlined HSPF) models for most watershed-scale modeling projects...
